Boston College and Bowling Green will join Penn State and Robert Morris for the second annual Three Rivers Classic college hockey tournament at CONSOL Energy Center.
Boston College is ranked No. 4 nationally in the USCHO preseason poll.
Robert Morris won the inaugural Three Rivers Classic tournament title last year, defeating Miami (O.) in the championship game.
“We think it’s a great showcase for college hockey, and a great opportunity for Pittsburgh fans to see some of the top NCAA Division 1 players in the country,” said David Morehouse, CEO and President of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
On Friday, Dec. 27, Boston College will take on Bowling Green at 4:30 p.m. and Penn State will meet Robert Morris at 7:30 p.m.
The consolation and championship games will be held Saturday, Dec. 28 at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Bowling Green is the alma mater of Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma and assistant coach Todd Reirden.
